The good news is that we finally got some cooler weather paired with more rain. The good soaking in kind. The bad news is (as ever) that the weeds are as thrilled with the conditions as the ‘real’ plants are.
The crabgrass is. A. Nightmare. All the other weeds are manageable, but holy crapstacks. WHERE did all these seeds come from? Who can I blame other than myself? I must find out post haste so that I can offload this shame and pivot to righteous indignation.
This week has 100% been spent on pulling up grass from the gravel. The rain has made it easier. But the volume is staggering and half the time I’ve just been wandering around looking for the ones about to or putting out flowers/seeds and yanking those. Its not efficient, but it is probably the technique that won’t leave me wanting to strangle my previous self next year.
I do promise I have some better, more exciting, posts in the chute for next week. As for us, we are off for a family wedding and I plan to not think about crabgrass at all.
The crabgrass promised nothing and will likely make me regret leaving. So it goes!
Happy weekend to you all!
“crapstacks” heh heh heh
