Hi! I’m Cortney- welcome to my blog!
My husband and I hack away on about 7.5 acres of ridiculously sandy soil in USDA zone 4b- Northern Wisconsin. We’ve been here since 2014 and have been trying to re-imagine the weedy sod we inherited into something much more awesome. We’ve got a veg garden, a number of different flower gardens, an orchard, an unruly hillside, and a couple acres of oak and maple forest. (To get the lay of the land, check out the “Garden Map” tab on the Home Page. I got out all my fancy pens and markers to make that.)
I suppose I (and therefore, we) subscribe to the whole Right Plant, Right Place (RPRP? RP2?) mentality, so much of what we grow is confined to whatever likes really, really good drainage and full, blazing sun. And some sub-zero temperatures in the winter for good measure.
My hope is that this site will be a good resource for new and experienced gardeners, to document our garden growth, and to share ideas with all the other amazing gardeners out there. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy it!
